What happens after you send it
The form checks that the required fields are filled in, then hands the request to whatever delivery path is configured for this site, such as a spreadsheet webhook or an email inbox. If that path is not set up yet, the form says so instead of pretending the request was delivered. You should still see a thank-you page only when the request was accepted.
A contractor is not automatically dispatched. The ZIP is how coverage is checked. Huntsville, Madison, Hampton Cove, and Owens Cross Roads are the request area. Athens and Decatur are not listed until someone confirms them. Postal city names in Madison County do not always match city limits, which is why the form asks for the ZIP of the house.
Response time is [PARTNER: response time]. Hours are [PARTNER: hours]. The phone number in the header is [PARTNER: tracked phone number] until a real line is connected. Do not treat a placeholder as a number you can dial.
What to have ready
You do not need to empty the house for the form. You do need a plain description.
- Which rooms, and a rough square footage if you know it.
- Stairs, landings, and whether the treads are carpeted.
- Pets, and whether anyone in the house is sensitive to dust.
- Any leak, even an old one, and whether the floor cupped.
- Slab or crawl space, if you know.
- Whether you are comparing a refinish with new flooring.
If you are asking about water damage, say when it happened and whether the subfloor was opened. Insurance questions belong with your insurer. The visit can document moisture and removed boards. It is not a coverage decision.
What the visit is for
On site, a measure covers the walking surface, the transitions, and the condition of the boards. Moisture readings matter more than the stain chip you liked in a store. If the floor should be dried before it is sanded, the visit should say that, even if it delays the work.
You should leave the visit with a written scope or a clear reason they will not price it yet. Compare that scope with any big-box install offer by the inclusions, not by a headline rate. The cost guide lists the lines worth reading.
This is not a contract
Sending the form does not reserve a date, lock a material price, or hire the independent contractor who may call you. Warranty terms, insurance, and licence details are unpublished until a contractor confirms them. Read the privacy page for where the form fields go, and the terms for what the website is not.
Questions on this page
Is the estimate really a visit?
A useful hardwood number comes from measuring rooms, checking moisture, and looking at stairs and the subfloor. Photos help the first call. They are not the measure.
What should I write in the details?
Approximate size, which rooms, stairs or no stairs, pets, whether the floor has been wet, and whether you want new flooring or a refinish. Say if the house is on a slab if you know.
Does sending the form hire a contractor?
No. It asks for a conversation and, when a contractor covers the ZIP, shares your details with that independent contractor. The construction contract is their written quote, later.
